On Top of the Old Limestone Dam

Here's Zeb on top of the old limestone dam that was built on the Santa Fe River in 1881. Beavers have been damming up the river below this point, and while we were eating an orange, we heard a big tree fall somewhere down canyon. We don't know whether it was the work of beavers, or whether it was a tree whose hold on the soil loosened because of the flooding. Zeb likes to think it was a beaver.

We also say a couple of ravens worrying a hawk. Why would ravens chase a hawk around?

And we saw one bear track further up the canyon.
